BEER POUR
by Sophia Jane Hayden · September 1, 2025

The very lonely Vice President of the United States, Jacqueline Farmington, is in a marriage of convenience and for appearances only. Vince, her estranged husband, the "Second Gentleman," lives in their Georgetown residence with his girlfriend. In her second term, the VEEP has had the occasional fling, but romance has eluded her since she was elected over six years ago. A dynamic politician, Jacqueline has just brokered an amazing billion-dollar economic deal for the U.S. The enormous diplomatic win involves bringing the two biggest Japanese beer brands to the U.S. for bottling and distribution. Jacqueline hires two Hollywood directors to advertise the beers and her remarkable accomplishment to the global community. Paul Wexler, the handsome Hollywood producer for one of the directors, reignites Jacqueline's passions, and their romance blossoms during a madcap, weeklong commercial film shoot and contest dubbed the "BEER POUR." This is a funny, engaging, and charming romance set against the real world of commercial filmmaking, and Jacqueline soon learns that advertising for a beer brand can be just as nutty as politics. Five stars!
