Everafter Booknook — 5/5

The romance between Kahlen and Akinli is gentle, innocent, and full of longing. Their connection feels special because Kahlen has spent so long believing that a normal life and real love could never belong to her even thought it was her hearts biggest desire. I loved seeing Kahlen discover that maybe love, happiness, and a life of her own weren’t as impossible as she believed. The way Kahlen’s sister sirens supported her through her trials all the to the very end was as touching as the romance and a wonderful reminder that family isn’t always blood.
